Local Hauling & Freight

Semis when the load is big. Straight trucks when the street is tight.

Full truckloads on 53' vans and flatbeds, downtown drops on 24' and 32' straight trucks, and a Moffett truck-mounted forklift that unloads without a dock on your end. One carrier for the whole range, with yard space to stage your material until the job is ready for it.

Why shippers call us

Four reasons the load moves easier with our truck.

We already run freight for our pallet customers every week. The hauling service is that same equipment and the same drivers, available for your loads.

Moffett-equipped

We bring the forklift with us.

A Moffett is a truck-mounted forklift that rides on the back of the trailer. It comes off and unloads on grade: gravel lots, jobsites, curbside, a warehouse with no dock. You don't need anyone standing by with a lift.

Right-sized decks

Trucks that fit the site.

Downtown Rochester and the Mayo campus aren't semi-friendly. Our 24' and 32' flatbeds turn into places a tractor-trailer has to refuse, so the load gets delivered instead of rescheduled.

Staged delivery

Delivered the day the job needs it.

We'll hold your material in our Rochester yard and run it out as the work calls for it, a few pallets at a time instead of a full order dumped on a site with nowhere to put it. You set the schedule; we hit it.

One vendor

Pallets and transport on one invoice.

If we're already building or recovering your pallets, the haul rides on the same relationship: one point of contact, one PO, and a crew that knows how your freight is supposed to be stacked.

Equipment

Match the trailer to the job.

Tell us the freight, the dock situation, and where it's going. We'll put the right unit on it.

Equipment Deck Best for Tight-site access
Semi with van trailer
Enclosed, dry, dock-height
53' Full truckloads of palletized goods that need to stay out of the weather. Dock or yard required
Large flatbed
Open deck, side-loadable
48' to 53' Lumber, banded pallet stacks, steel, oversized or crane-set loads. Open yard required
Straight-truck flatbed
Maneuverable, no tractor
24' & 32' Downtown drops, hospital and clinic campuses, alley loading, partial loads. Gets in where semis can't
Moffett truck-mounted forklift
A forklift that rides on the back of the trailer
Add-on Any delivery where there's no dock, no forklift, or nobody on site to receive. Unloads on grade

The downtown problem. Contractors on the Mayo Clinic project downtown can't take a tractor-trailer down to the site. A 24' or 32' flatbed with a Moffett forklift on the back solves both halves of that at once: it fits the street, and it sets the load down itself.

What it costs

$100 an hour. One hour minimum. That's the whole rate card.

Time runs from when the truck leaves our yard to when it's back. Move the sliders for a working estimate before you call. The invoice is always actual time, so a fast unload costs you less than this shows.

Yard storage and handling

If we're staging your material, the handling and storage are billed separately from the truck time.

$7 Per pallet in Received, checked, and put away in our Rochester yard.
$7 Per pallet out Pulled and staged for the truck when you call for it.
$10 Per pallet, per month Storage for as long as the job needs us to hold it.

These rates are per standard pallet position. Oversized pallets are billed by how many standard pallet positions of floor space they take up, so a load that covers two positions is billed as two.

How it works

Four steps from call to signed BOL.

What happens between the first phone call and the invoice.

01

Tell us the load

Pickup, drop-off, what's on the pallets, and whether either end has a dock. A photo helps more than a paragraph.

02

We confirm the truck

We name the equipment, the window, and an hour estimate at $100/hr so there's no surprise on the invoice.

03

We haul it

Insured, licensed, and reachable by phone while the truck is out. You get a call if anything changes on site.

04

You get billed actual time

Hours out, itemized. Net terms available for established accounts.

Service area

100 miles out of Rochester.

Regular lanes run north to the Twin Cities, east to La Crosse, and south to the Iowa line. Beyond that, just ask. If a truck is already headed that way, we'll quote it.

0 to 25 mi Rochester, Byron, Stewartville, Kasson, Dover, Pine Island, Chatfield, Oronoco
25 to 60 mi Winona, Owatonna, Austin, Albert Lea, Red Wing, Faribault, Lake City, Wabasha

Outside the circle?

Long-haul and backhaul lanes are quoted per load rather than hourly. If you ship the same route regularly, we'll price it as a standing lane instead of trip by trip.
